Privacy Policy — Macro (self-hosted)
This policy covers the self-hosted deployment of Macro operated at 8228.io. It is a private, single-operator instance and is not offered to the public.
What this application is
Macro is an open-source workspace combining email, documents, tasks, chat, and CRM. This deployment runs on hardware controlled by the operator and is used only by the operator's own accounts.
Google user data accessed
With explicit consent at sign-in, the application requests:
- Gmail messages and labels (gmail.modify), to display, organize, and send mail
- Gmail basic settings (gmail.settings.basic), to read signatures, filters, and aliases
- Contacts and other contacts (contacts.readonly, contacts.other.readonly), to populate the contact directory
- Calendar (calendar), to display and synchronize events
- Basic profile and email address (openid, email, profile), to identify the signed-in account
How the data is used
Solely to provide the features above within this private deployment. Data is stored on infrastructure controlled by the operator. It is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties, and is not used for advertising or analytics.
Limited Use disclosure
This application's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Storage and retention
Data is cached locally for as long as an account remains connected. Access ends when the account is disconnected in the application or revoked at https://myaccount.google.com/permissions. Local copies are deleted on request.
Third parties
None. No analytics, advertising, or data brokers. Data is transmitted only between Google's APIs and the operator's own systems.
